Oh how we love cooking at East Sale Kindergarten & today Mrs. Murray showed us how to make a sometimes food - Bread Donuts! Those of you who are former families of East Sale Kindergarten will remember them well I'm sure as they seem to have been a favourite here for quite some time!
First you make a Jam Sandwich - take some bread, cut the crusts off, spread some Strawberry Jam on, put the lid on the sandwich & then cut it into four (4) pieces.
While the children were busy making their sandwiches, Mrs. Murray & another group of children started preparing the batter - just a simple pancake batter is perfect!
Next - very carefully - a grown-up will heat up a little oil in a frying pan & then each square or triangle of sandwich is dipped into the batter, fried until golden & then rolled in a little caster sugar with cinnamon!
Mmm! Remember though - these are only a sometimes food!
